Dear Strawberry Community,

A cold front is expected to make its’ way into the Southeast today and tomorrow. Especially the night from Tuesday to Wednesday (Nov. 12–13, 2019) is expected to be in the teens in wide parts of Western North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, and Kentucky (see Figure 1).

If you are in a region with predicted temperatures in the teens or even low twenties, we recommend using row covers to protect the young strawberry plants from damage. We will follow up tomorrow with a more detailed weather advisory.

Sincerely

Mark Hoffmann
