Drone Camp
June 24-28 (Ages 16-17)
Explore the future of technology with our Drone Camps! In partnership with the Wake County 4-H SPACES and 4-H SPACESTOO programs, these camps focus on drone technology, a rapidly evolving field with diverse applications. The curriculum covers drone operation, regulations, and various applications, enriched by hands-on training and field trips to Elizabeth City State University. Upon completion, each participant receives a certificate, symbolizing their new skills and perspectives.
Sleepaway Camp
June 23-28 (Ages 8-14)
Embark on an adventure at the Betsy Jeff Penn 4-H Camp, returning for Summer 2024! From June 23-28, children ages 8-14 can enjoy a sleepaway experience like no other. We’ve got something for everyone:
- Traditional Camp (ages 8-12)
- Adventure Camp/Trekker Camp (ages 12-14)
- Leadership in Training (ages 15-17)
All programs run concurrently during the same week, allowing families with children of different ages and interests to participate seamlessly. Our affordable price of $605 per camper makes it the most budget-friendly option in the region. Transportation from the Wake County 4-H office to the camp in Reidsville is handled by Wake County Cooperative Extension, simplifying logistics for parents.
Diverse activities such as horseback riding, team building, archery, outdoor education, arts, music, crafts, and swimming await your child. Open to all youth, regardless of background, with limited availability, so secure a spot today!
Pass the Mic Camp
July 29-August 2 (Ages 13-18)
Empower your high school students (ages 13-18) with Pass the Mic Camp! From July 29 to August 2, participants will learn from local artists and activists to create art through different mediums. This unique camp combines artistic expression with advocacy, inspiring positive change in social justice issues.
Beekeeping Camp
August 5-7 (Ages 13-16)
Dive into the fascinating world of honeybees at Beekeeping Camp! From August 5-7, ages 13-16 will learn about honeybee biology, colony structure, and environmental preservation. Build a hive, visit working beehives, and create tasty treats and skincare products from honeybee products. Connect with fellow bee enthusiasts through interactive games and activities.
