Soybean harvest is on the horizon, as is the Soybean yield contest which accepts entries until December 10^th.

As we approach the beginning of soybean harvest, it’s time for us to shift our focus on wheat planting. Dr. Angela Post and her team have many great resources to help you make your selection of seed this season. One of these tools is the OVT (Official Variety Testing Tool) is a great resource for you to select what seed is the best fit for your farm.

The OVT allows you to input different pieces of information that describe your needs. You can access my video and instruction guide on the OVT below.

In preparation for planting, it is important to remember that the soil sample fee is on the horizon and starts December 1^st  2023 and ends March 31^st 2024.  Bring your samples to the Wake County office located at 4001 Carya Dr, Raleigh, NC 27610 by 3:00pm on Wednesday, November 22th 2023 to make sure that they are submitted before the “peak season” fee is applied.
