Our professional staff and trained volunteers integrate service delivery for greater impact, provide leadership in the community on related issues, and build capacity to address local priorities.


Extension Communications Specialist

The Communication Specialist is a vital member of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension (NCCE) Administrative Support Team, reporting directly to the Departmental Business Manager. In this role, you will be instrumental in executing a wide range of public communications and marketing-related tasks for N.C. Cooperative Extension in Wake County. Responsibilities include writing and editing news and promotional materials, providing graphic design, preparing news releases, managing social media campaigns, and developing communication strategies.

This position collaborates closely with programs related to Volunteer Systems, 4-H Youth Development, Food Security, Nutrition and Local Foods, and Agriculture and Natural Resources. Building and maintaining effective working relationships with Wake County Public Affairs, CALS Communication Office, and other external entities are crucial for success in this role. The performance of assigned responsibilities is guided by the philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of the NCCE.
