Each year, Wake County 4-H hosts free and/or affordable camps for 4-H members of all ages. This year, we brought back many of our favorite programs for a variety of interests from cooking to drones!
As Summer 2023 comes to a close, Wake County 4-H sends a HUGE THANK YOU to all of our 4-H members, volunteers, parents, and staff for another successful and memorable season.
STEAM Camp
Using university-backed curriculum around science, technology, engineering, arts, and math, participants engage in learn-by-doing experiments to reduce summer learning slide and expand life skills.
Drone Camp
Through collaboration with several universities, county departments, and city parks, youth develop an understanding of a possible future career or education in unmanned aircrafts, learn the fundamentals of drones and to engage in STEM education.
Pass the Mic Camp
High school students learn from local artists and activists to create art through different mediums from sustainable paint-making to podcasting! Participants are encouraged to use their talents to inspire change and lead discussion in social justice issues.
Farm to Fork Camp
Youth learn where their food comes from and how to prepare meals using fresh items from the farm. Participants monitored chicks hatching, visited local farms, joined our annual International Festival for a day, and cooked new meals every session!
Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Sleepaway Camp
This residential camp in Reidsville, NC offers one of the best values in the state for a high-quality summer camp experience. Youth gain critical life skills through experiential learning, improve their social skills by meeting and making new friends, and gain an experience that will last a lifetime.
